"Windbreaker" Thwarts Missile Fired at IDF Tank

An anti-tank missile was fired at an IDF tank during routine activity in the
southern Gaza Strip a short while ago. For the first time during operational
activity, the Trophy (ASPRO-A) system, also known as the "Windbreaker",
designed to actively protect against anti-tank missiles, identified, alerted
and intercepted the missile.
Shortly afterwards, IDF soldiers identified several terrorists in the area
and fired in their direction, identifying a hit.
Terrorist organizations are constantly operating to target Israeli civilians
and IDF soldiers. The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely
responsible for maintaining the calm in the Gaza Strip and for any terrorist
activity emanating from it.
